Passion for Manufacturing

Commitment to Puerto Rico

Our Journey

Our history is one of constant evolution. From our founding in 2014 to becoming a regional leader, Metalectrik has played a key role in rebuilding Puerto Rico’s power grid and expanding infrastructure throughout the Caribbean. Today, with HUBZone certification and global strategic partnerships, we continue to transform the industry with precision and dedication.

Key Milestones

Birth of the industrial manufacturing platform

Industrial Origins (Before 2014)

Metalectrik was formed following the acquisition of Engineer Metal Forms. This laid the technical and manufacturing foundation for the company.

Institutional formalization for structured growth

Official Incorporation (April 7, 2014)

Formal incorporation in Puerto Rico, thereby consolidating its legal and administrative structure.

Transition from a workshop to a specialized manufacturing operation

Consolidation of Specialized Manufacturing (2015–2016)

Expansion of metalworking capabilities, paving the way for complex electrical and industrial projects.

Direct contribution to the reconstruction of the country’s critical infrastructure

Post-Hurricane Maria Recovery Role (2017–2019)

Played an active role in restoring Puerto Rico’s power grid by providing substations, transformers (25 kVA to 10 MVA), and underground and overhead solutions.

Positioning in high-complexity power generation projects

High-Voltage and Power Generation Expertise (2017–2021)

Manufacturing of high-voltage switchgear with vacuum circuit breakers for major power plants: Palo Seco (120 MVA), San Juan (300 MVA), and Yabucoa (60 MVA).

Rare and significant institutional recognition.

Institutional Technical Validation (September 16, 2020)

The Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA/AEE) certifies aluminum structures up to 46 kV, transformer enclosures, and switching units for the distribution system.

Validation of technical capacity outside outside of Puerto Rico

Regional Expansion Begins (2021)

Export of power substation gantries (13.8/69 kV – 84 MVA) to Haiti.

Consolidation of international logistics and regional presence

Sustained Caribbean Presence (April 2024)

Export projects to the Bahamas (galvanized steel gantries) and the Dominican Republic (138 kV insulator supports).

Formal entry into the federal infrastructure market

Federal Market Entry (August 15, 2024)

Received HUBZone certification from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), allowing the company to participate in federal contracting.

Evolution from a specialized manufacturer to a provider of integrated solutions provider

Exclusive distributor of EMINSA transformers in Puerto Rico, offering both manufacturing and comprehensive electrical solutions.

Technical Capabilities

Working with the most challenging materials

Stainless Steel

The ultimate choice for extreme environments. It ensures maximum hygiene and resistance to chemicals and extreme salinity, maintaining structural integrity where other metals fail.

Aluminum

Lightweight yet durable, our aluminum solutions are specifically designed for power lines and substations. They offer excellent electrical conductivity and natural resistance to rust.

Galvanized Steel

High-strength carbon steel coated with protective zinc. It offers exceptional structural durability and superior protection against atmospheric corrosion.

Service Capabilities

  • Federal Compliance: Our manufacturing processes facilitate approval for projects funded under the Buy American Act.

  • Total Control: Based in Florida, we oversee every stage—from sourcing raw materials to final finishing—and meet the most stringent quality standards.

  • Safety First: We guarantee that all components can withstand the loads and environmental conditions required by agencies such as LUMA and international engineering boards.

  • Collaborative Engineering: We work closely with our clients’ engineers to turn complex blueprints into tangible products.

  • Design Versatility: We offer the ability to create enclosures with custom dimensions, precision perforations, and specialized corrosion-resistant coatings.

  • Agility: Our shop structure allows us to pivot and adjust designs quickly—a level of flexibility that large-scale, mass-market manufacturers cannot match.

  • Energy Sector: Manufacturing of substations, transformers, and high-voltage structures (up to 38 kV) that form the backbone of the electrical grid.

  • Healthcare Sector: Specialized electrical enclosures and systems for hospitals and trauma centers that require maximum redundancy and protection.

  • Commercial & Industrial Sectors: Robust solutions for manufacturing plants and retail hubs that require durable equipment capable of withstanding high salinity and tropical weather.
